Restoration Rocks 2014
With each passing year you see the continued growth and love the community expresses for this event. You can just look around and witness the grand Brooklyn pride attached to it. You can stand next to people from all walks of life and just groove to the music, exchange smiles, and know you are all there for the same purpose, the purpose of just having a great time. The intergenerational gaps are closed once the music captures the attention of all ages. Everyone just seems to go into a trance of dance & just simply find a common ground & understanding. That common ground is that we all just love feel good music. The performances are top notch and the performers are more than proud to rep their musical talents in these Brooklyn, streets. The community welcomed the performers with love. This year comedian Brooklyn Mike Troy, hosted and did an amazing job. His Co-host Gbenga Akinnagbe, from HBO's The Wire also kept everyone entertained. They introduced phenomenal acts such as CM3 a new boy group, Raymond Luke Jr. who plays young Michael Jackson, In Motown on Broadway, this young man has a powerful voice. Also Phylicia Rashād's daughter Condola, and her group The Stoop Kids put on a great performance. The amazing Rochelle Fleming, took over the stage as she put on a dynamic show, followed by the headlining men of the hour Slick Rick, and Doug E. Fresh. They also brought out special guest Keith Murray, and Lil Vicious. Overall the event was dope and enthusiastically received. There were many general merchandise vendors, there was also a plethora of food choices, lots of healthier options were also incorporated this year. Once again, it was a success. Restoration Rocks rocked 2014!
